A Place of Worship
Rigid Surface Structures
This studio explored the potential of Rigid Surface Structures in Architecture. The study culminated with an exploration of the design of a Place of Worship sited on the peak of a mountain in an experimental forest in Oregon.
We utilised digital form-finding software and structural analysis to assist in the development of appropriate structural forms.
I chose to explore a wooden folded plate system as well as a coarse rebar weave to embody the spiritual and intellectual dialogues of the user who climbs to this mountain peak look-out.
